It is built to handle inundation in the region

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar, took the time to monitor the mini reservoir at Jalan SMPN 160, RT 02/05 Ceger Cipayung, on Friday (1/29).

In that occasion, he accompanied by his partner Hendra Hidayat, Economic and Development Assistant Kusmanto, Cipayung Sub-district Head Fajar Eko Satrio and other related officials, the mayor arrived at the location using a bike.

He said the reservoir as wide as 970 square meters was built around one to 1.5 meters by the SDA task force and PPSU a month ago.

"It is built to handle inundation in the region," he said.

He explained the residential area was usually flooded up to 50 cm high when rain poured. But the inundation had not occurred in the last few days, despite the reservoir development was not yet completed.

"That means the reservoir is slightly producing the results, moreover the drainage channel in the area is still being cleaned," he stated.
